Description of the experience

Playa Brava is a hidden destination in the Tayrona National Park, it is the perfect destination to relax and camp at night under the stars; to reach this quiet beach you have to travel to the entrance of Calabazo Tayrona, a village of Santa Marta where we find the beginning of the route to Playa Brava, and the beaches that follow during the exit through the Zaino.

Visitors to this beach are mainly foreigners who enjoy hiking, so a quiet and relaxing experience is guaranteed.
The effort of this trek is worth it because of the breathtaking scenery and the absence of crowds of tourists, making this destination the perfect setting to disconnect from the world; the ideal place for a romantic getaway or to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

This tour from Calabozo to Playa Brava in the Tayrona Park is a unique experience that combines physical challenge, natural beauty and tranquility, it is important to mention that this beach is not available for swimming, due to its huge waves.

How to get there

Playa Brava PNN Tayrona can only be accessed after an intense hike of approximately 5 hours to the beach, which can be challenging due to the mountainous and humid terrain of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

Throughout the trek, you will experience two different types of climate, a tropical rainforest climate and a tropical cloud forest by the sea; along the way you will find freshwater streams where you can refresh yourself, the water will revitalize you and give you energy to keep going.

During the hike, you will be able to observe the flora, fauna, and beautiful landscapes that characterize this trail up to “Playa Brava Teyumakke”, during the tour you will observe a Kogui Indigenous community called Tayku, if you want to visit this place, it will have an additional cost.
